My love affair with Maine began with a summer job at a lobster pound on Wells Beach during my college years at Miami University of Ohio. After moving to Falmouth almost 20 years ago, my husband and I quickly learned the joys of our home overflowing with visiting children and summer guests who never tire of sharing our favorite delights – backyard lobster bakes, blue berry picking, ferry boat rides to explore the islands, Ogunquit summer theater and of course, exhilarating year-round beach walks with our 2 golden retrievers.

My professional career transitioned from being a successful business consultant for a big-five firm, to passionate involvement with real estate.
I am especially knowledgeable about home building from concept to construction and have built and/or renovated 7 homes in both Hilton Head, SC and Maine over the last 15 years.

My style is highly collaborative – and I have nurtured a vast network of relationships with architects, builders, designers, landscapers, interior decorators and other brokers. All of these valuable relationships contribute to my own resources and provide support to my clients when they need assistance in the broad range of issues involved with buying and selling homes. I love our state of Maine – the “hidden gem” and am delighted to be part of the Legacy Sotheby’s team as we strive to raise the bar for highest levels of customer service.

Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Reading, MA, my wife Beth, daughter Katie and son Peter and I have called North Yarmouth, ME home for the last twenty years. As most parents will tell you, once you start raising children in the beauty of Maine, it’s hard to leave! I earned a Master’s Degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from Tufts University in 1986 and have had the opportunity to engage in many exciting and challenging real estate development projects throughout southern Maine. Roles have varied from municipal Director of Planning and Development for the town of Yarmouth to consultant for residential subdivisions and major corporate expansions working on design, permitting and finance. Civic involvement include the Cumberland Congregational Church, Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce, coaching youth baseball and basketball, the Yarmouth Rowing Club and My Wonderful Dog where I try to convince yellow lab “teddy” to forego his natural tendencies and serve a person with a disability. Time with my wife and running around with my kids is my passion outside of real estate as well as some recreational basketball, rowing and karate.

I've been in real estate for over 20 years. Formerly, I was in Washington, D.C. as legislative assistant to Congressman Stanley Tupper. Working for a congressman and learning to focus on constituents' needs was good training for real estate. This job is less about bricks and mortar and much more about human nature. It is very important to listen carefully to the client's concerns and to work diligently to make the buying or selling experience as smooth as possible. Over the years I've been fortunate to work with wonderful clients.
I have a B.A. History & Government, University of Maine.
For fun Ray and I enjoy our annual visits to Sanibel Island in Southwest Florida, and have collected more shells than we know what to do with. We also have great fun as the world's oldest "groupies" following our daughter and son-in-law's appearances with the Don Campbell Band.

I grew up in Cape Elizabeth, graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Speech Pathology and moved to Boston upon graduation to explore other opportunities. I joined R.M. Bradley in the commercial division, became licensed and worked as a site selector for a company specializing in finding sites for franchises around New England. I then joined the Stride Rite Corporation real estate division and choreographed their move to a new corporate headquarters in Cambridge. It seemed appropriate to move into residential sales in Cambridge which I did for the next 8 years.
Maine beckoned in 1994 and I joined Coldwell Banker as Relocation Director and built a successful department working with many corporate clients to assist their employees arriving or departing the area. I have an appreciation for both urban living and the slower pace of living in southern Maine.

I have been a board member of Casco Bay Sunrise Rotary since 1995 participating in many local and international projects. I was a corporator for the Sweetser School involved in fundraising to support their excellent programs for a number of years.

Interests include travel, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, golf, theater and adding to my antique globe collection!

I was born in Camden, which makes me officially a “native” and have lived in the area most of my life. I attended local schools and college in Maine before moving out West to ski for a few years. As much as I loved it, I realized that Camden, with all it has to offer was where I wanted to be. Since then, I’m constantly rediscovering all the natural beauty in this area and still revel in the fact I can walk into the local market and everyone knows my name. I met my husband about the same time as I started my real estate career, and have been selling real estate for the last 12 years. We have bought, renovated and sold houses, and are always looking for another project. I live in Lincolnville with my husband and daughter, and if I’m not in the office, I’m sailing on Penobscot Bay looking for the perfect anchorage, hiking the Camden Hills or swimming in Megunticook Lake. I’m a member of the community board of REALTORS®, the Camden YMCA, the Camden Yacht Club, a volunteer on the steering committee for Cash for Clothes and an active member in my daughter’s cooperative preschool. I work with both Buyers and Sellers in the midcoast, and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.

Maine…worth a visit…worth a lifetime. My ongoing love affair with Maine began four decades ago. While living in Pacific Heights, I met and married my Native Mainer husband Michael. Instead of leaving my heart in San Francisco, I followed it to the Coast of Maine. Adaptability has always been a priority in our lives as Michael’s career required numerous transfers around the country. The one constant factor in our lives has been Maine. Our family summered every year on the Southern Maine Coast with our two sons no matter where our primary residence was at the time. My real estate career began in Saddle River, NJ in 1986 and the intuition that I would practice Maine real estate someday proved to be correct when we made Kennebunkport our permanent residence. I combine my first hand experiences as a corporate wife with compassion and understanding of the challenges faced by my clients during the relocation process whether around the globe or down the street. The thrill of sharing Maine’s gorgeous real estate with my clients is the ultimate reward. Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty allows me to do precisely that. The presentation of incredible tools and global networking affords me the opportunity to engage every effort in order to exceed my client’s expectations. I invite you to contact me. You won’t be disappointed!

In 1991 my husband Ron and I moved back to the U.S. from Berlin, Germany, and started a search for what we planned to be our permanent home. Nothing truly inspired us until, in the summer of 1994, we visited a restoration of the former Fort McKinley on Great Diamond Island called Diamond Cove. The moment we stepped off the boat at Diamond Cove we knew it was what we had been searching for.
Soon after moving to Diamond Cove in 1996 I became the sales rep for the developers of the project and later, when the developers’ work was completed, I continued to handle re-sales as a licensed agent. In 2001 I had the good luck to co-broke a sale with Peter Thornton. We formed an affiliation that continues to this day, listing and selling the vast majority of available Cove properties. My knowledge and enthusiasm for Diamond Cove and Peter’s long experience with the local real estate market gives our clients the best possible representation; professional, reliable and responsive yet comfortable and low key. And with the recent welcome addition of Pat Kirby to our group, the service will be seamless.
I have 3 daughters, a doctor, a lawyer and an airline pilot, great sons-in-law and 9 beautiful grandchildren. My husband, an Air Force veteran and former captain with Pan American World Airways restores homes here at Diamond Cove. We own a “camp” in Poland Spring and find that the combination of Maine lake and island ownership is perfect, especially for my husband who, having traveled the world all his life, now doesn’t want to go anywhere else. Fortunately for me, I love it here.

Growing up in the small coastal town of Cape Elizabeth, I couldn’t wait to get away and see other parts of the world. After four years at an out of state college and a summer abroad, I realized Maine truly was the one-of-a-kind place I was happiest to call home. I returned soon after college, married here, and my husband and I are now raising our three sons in the same town in which I grew up. My professional background is in communications: I graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and spent 15 years freelancing for some of New England’s largest companies. I am a member of the Portland Board of REALTORS® and NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, Friends of the Children’s Museum of Maine, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and the Greek Orthodox Church in Portland. I also volunteer for the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation and Pond Cove Parents Association. Family time is spent attempting to conquer the slopes of New England, cheering on our sons’ various sports teams, and relaxing at Pine Point Beach (while waiting for our 4, 8 and 10-year-old to pull up their five lobster traps for dinner). Whether you’ve lived here before and want to move back, are a newcomer hoping to call Maine home, or a Mainer looking to sell your home I’d be honored to help make your next real estate transaction as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

The coast of Maine is such a wonderful place to live. I feel fortunate to have landed in the Camden area and established a successful real estate practice over the past seven years. I especially like the challenge and competition of finding that perfect oceanfront cottage or village Victorian because buying a property is an important and potentially life-changing event. I also enjoy representing a property for sale in the most professional, accurate, and creative way in order to bring about the visibility necessary for a successful sale. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta and have worked as an outdoor educator, EMT, and grade-school teacher. I graduated from Saint Lawrence University with a B.A in Sociology. At SLU I enjoyed playing Field Hockey and Lacrosse and was the captain of both teams. It was here on the field that I started my leadership skills and learned how to listen and gained insight as to how to deal with all different types of people. Today I can apply these skills to helping my clients deal with stressful times of buying and selling. After SLU I went to Jackson, WY to spend a few years on the slopes, but I always returned to Maine to enjoy the best time of the year, summer. I have been in the real estate business for several years and I have loved working with Buyers and Sellers from all over the country. Knowledge of Maine and a significant network of influential community contact make my marketing a powerful asset. I develop a customized marketing strategy for each property which encompasses a powerful mix of elite printing material, cutting edge internet technology and closely targeting direct-mail marketing. I also have a clear understanding of and strong experience in negotiating homes for sale. I realize that negotiating can be a difficult time for buyers and sellers and I find my education and knowledge to be beneficial and reassuring to my clients. While work is very important to me I also like to take time off to treasure this great state. I enjoy boating, skiing and competing in triathlons and road races around Maine.

I’m a native Mainer. I grew up in the Sugarloaf/Rangeley Lakes area and, for the past twelve years, I’ve called Portland both my home and my playground. I enjoy renovating properties -- my current home, a brick row house in the West End (which has the look and feel of Boston’s Beacon Hill), is one of several that I’ve renovated over the past couple of years. My interest/experience (over a decade’s worth) has grown from working in my family’s business on high-end restoration, renovation and development projects throughout Greater Portland and Southern Maine. For relaxation I enjoy spending time with my family, working out and sampling the area’s great restaurants. My goals as a real estate professional are to maintain open, honest communication and to use my knowledge of the Southern Maine residential market for my clients’ benefit.

I am a resident of Harpswell and an ardent supporter of all the area has to offer. My wife and I have immersed ourselves in the Maine lifestyle and have never regretted the decision to make this our permanent home. We take full advantage of the rugged Maine coast, sailing a classic mahogany sloop out of the Orr’s-Bailey Yacht Club. As members of the Midcoast Triathlon Club in Brunswick, we also get in our share of swimming, cycling and running. My education includes a BBA in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA with a concentration in Financial Services from Boston University. I have owned a successful shipping business in Massachusetts for nearly 15 years. Being a business owner has taught me that having a successful long term relationship with a client is more valuable than any single deal. I am committed to bringing the highest level of professionalism to the industry. I look forward to working with you to find your perfect Maine property.

Maine has always been my home, except for a short stint at the University of Vermont that culminated in a transfer to the University of Maine and ultimately a B.S. in Animal Science. This exemplifies my life-long tendency to love visiting – I dearly hold New Zealand, Ireland, and Hawaii among my favorite places – but love coming home to Maine even more, always with a renewed appreciation. My husband Bill and I ran a B & B, Freeport’s James Place Inn, for twelve years, where I gained a lifetimes worth of lessons and a broad understanding of the tourism industry. I had the privilege of seeing our state through the eyes of people from other places and felt very proud to be a frontline representative of Vacationland. I still keep in touch with many families who would return as our guests year after year and became our friends. As a REALTOR®, like my father, I am eager to help people find their own piece of paradise and settle here because they, like myself, choose to call Maine their home.

I grew up in Connecticut and enjoyed the summers of my youth in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Ossipee. Following graduation from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Resource Management I joined an international hydrogeologic consulting firm specializing in ground water exploration. The job took me to 39 states over nine years including several years in Grand Junction, Colorado as Manager of Western Operations. After nine years of traveling I again settled on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee where I founded, owned, and operated three resort gift and apparel shops for twenty years. Customer service, attention to detail, and community service were major reasons for my success in retail: the very same practices that allowed a natural transition into real estate sales and investment. I obtained both my Maine and New Hampshire licenses in 2004, and happily divide my time between homes in Falmouth, Maine and Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee. I am a corporator of my bank and have been a board member of the water commission, planning board, and Chamber of Commerce. I am an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and a member of the Maine Association of REALTORS® and Portland Board of REALTORS®. I am an avid skier and boater; however, finding the time to get really, really good at fly-fishing remains elusive.

After many years of practicing real estate law (most recently as Vice President and General Counsel at Fannie Mae’s American Communities Fund), I now find that I have the good fortune to work in the field that I love --- residential real estate --- while living in beautiful Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Like many others, during my travels to the Maine coastline I dreamed of living “life the way it should be”. Today it’s a dream realized. I am a native New Yorker having grown up in the Hudson River valley and a graduate of Fordham University with a B.A. in Political Science. I earned my law degree at the University of Notre Dame Law School (Go Irish!) and practiced real estate law with two large international law firms in Connecticut (Paul, Hastings) and in New York City (Rogers & Wells); as well as serving as in-house counsel in Virginia and Washington, D.C. As an attorney I represented many private individuals in their residential transactions, but more importantly I have bought, renovated and sold several homes of my own. I love the “thrill of the hunt” -- buying or selling that special property -- at the right price. In my professional life I have been described as dedicated, persistent and detail oriented. In my personal life I enjoy spending time with my partner and our terrific six year old daughter. I am a member of the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS®, the Portland Museum of Art, the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust. I volunteer at Pond Cove Elementary School, the Preble Street Resource Center and I’m a member of the Cape Elizabeth Planning Board. Any spare time is spent at the beach, gardening, renovating our home, reading a good book or traveling (I maintain dual U.S./E.U. citizenship). If you’re looking to move to Maine, “move up” in Maine, or sell your Maine house let me put my passion for real estate, my education and my experience to work for you.

Our family moved to Portland more than 25 years ago, and I spent many of those years successfully cajoling our 5 children into adulthood before launching my real estate career. I have a special love for antique houses that is satisfied by our Gothic Revival house in Portland's nineteenth century Western Prom neighborhood. My fascination with the history and architectural diversity in Portland led me into the real estate business, which has been a full time commitment for 22 years. The challenges are always present and I value the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for our city with newcomers as well as long time residents. Taking a break from business, I am a voracious reader, a crossword puzzle addict and a novice but enthusiastic gardener. We share a home with our two mischievous terriers, Emma and Maggie, and we look forward to frequent visits from our 7 grandchildren.

What can I say about my life experiences that will help you get to know me? Before moving to Maine, I lived in the countryside around Baltimore and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I was educated at Notre Dame Prep, Salem College in N.C. and received my undergrad degree in Social Psychology from the University of Maryland. Being a part of a construction family, much of my early and adult life has been spent designing, building and renovating homes and farms. My current home is a turn of the century cottage in Falmouth, Maine and I have just finished designing and building a waterfront cottage on a beautiful island in the Casco Bay.
Prior to obtaining a Ph.D. in Sociology: Justice, Law and Society from The American University in Washington, D.C., I spent two decades as a law enforcement professional: homicide detective, FBI Agent and FBI Criminal Profiler. This education and experience has contributed greatly to my ability to listen, analyze and assist clients in making informed decisions.
In addition to real estate, I am very involved in working with local schools to increase endowments and thus provide quality educational opportunities and scholarships for deserving youths, whether they reside in the inner city of Baltimore or in Portland, Maine. The rewards of these endeavors have been and continue to be truly unbelievable.
As a member of Legacy Properties SIR and working with Peter Thornton and Sandy Fitch, it is my belief that our clients will receive the best services offered in today's real estate market.

Life started for me in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and through the usual paths carried me through New England in pursuit of both public and private schooling. I went on to several ill chosen jobs, food editor of a major New York press, service on both sides of the Indie film cameras, and eventually influenced by my two children, I went on to explore the world of international toy buying. In the late eighties I summered on Monhegan Island and found that the architecture of the coast of Maine fulfilled an aesthetic desire, and since have been representing buyers and sellers in pursuit of their dreams. I maintain a widely divergent real estate portfolio of high value properties that discerning clients will appreciate for their individuality and beauty.
